Leafly is looking for an experienced VP, SEC Reporting to join our team. This is a key role that will lead all aspects of financial reporting, technical accounting research, and equity accounting. You will partner cross-functionally to advise on various reporting and technical matters. This position reports to the Head of Accounting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with systems and technology, speak fluently in debits and credits, and possess both intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous improvement.


  • Lead and manage the preparation of SEC filings and all underlying supporting schedules, calculations, and disclosure checklist
  • ​Assist with reviewing financial information for and tie-out of earnings releases
  • Facilitate disclosure practices committee and other internal reviews of SEC filings
  • Draft well-written memos on new accounting standards and material/complex transactions
  • Draft and maintain accounting policies & disclosure policies manual
  • Assist with defining and implementing internal controls around financial reporting and equity
  • Manage the accounting and disclosures for the Company’s stock-based compensation plans and earnings-per-share
  • Create efficiencies and simplification by leveraging technology solutions and automation
  • Managing annual audit and quarterly reviews performed by external accountants
  • Lead and assist on additional projects as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA
  • 6+ years’ related work experience in a technical accounting and financial reporting role
  • Public accounting experience and experience with SEC registered companies
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting; XBRL a plus
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, advanced Word & Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to leverage technology to invent, improve, and scale


  • Experience with Intacct, Computershare, and a reporting tool, such as Workiva or ActiveDisclosure, a plus
