About the role

We have an opening for an ambitious (mid/upper level) UI/UX designer. This is a full-time role. Our design team is a lean powerhouse that moves fast with little hand holding, and you’ll be the first design member dedicated to working with our product team. As long as you hit your deadlines, the hours are flexible and you can work remotely from anywhere in the United States. You’ll be working closely with our Creative Director, CEO, and Product Manager, assisting in all UI/UX and interaction design activities throughout all touch-points in our customer journey. You’ll make a direct impact in improving onboarding, activation, retention, and referrals.

Please note: this role involves both strategy and execution. This is a role for doers who want to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty.

Here’s what we expect from you - Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, marketers, and engineers; regularly conduct user research - Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for the brand - Create highly interactive, delightful, and user-centered experiences for our core product - Produce high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes - Contribute to and help develop the product and brand strategy - Participate in cross-functional brainstorms, discussions, and design reviews - Present design concepts to the executive team and understand business needs to achieve excellent results - Test and optimize existing user interface designs such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages. - Regularly test for intuitivity and experience and troubleshoot problems - Adhere to style standards on typography and graphic design.

Your qualifications - 5+ years experience as UI/UX designer in digital products / services - A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms - Advanced knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, HTML, CSS (SCSS), Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite - A desire to be part of a product team iterating and improving on the product day-to-day - A strong opinion on design but the humility to seek and incorporate feedback - A highly collaborative nature and willingness for showing in-progress design work - The ability to clearly communicate design rationale and conceptual ideas to a wide variety of people - You love working in a fast-paced, remote-work environment

Bonus points if… - You have a good knowledge of CSS, HTML and front-end development… You won’t be coding but we believe it’s good to know the intricacies and limitations of the medium you’re designing for - You have experience working remotely - You have experience working with a distributed development team - You have experience working in a startup - You have experience working in cannabis

Compensation - $90,000-120,000 starting salary based on ability and experience
