About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Vendor Quality to join our Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs team. The Senior Manager, Vendor Quality will be responsible for leading a high performing team of Quality Auditors and Quality Specialist to ensure that Departmental and Organizational objectives are achieved through strategic planning. The Senior Manager, Vendor Quality will lead departmental initiatives with internal and external partners to achieve end to end quality performance management with vendors as well as provide insights on quality metrics with stakeholders. The Senior Manager will also follow up on any reported non-compliance received from consumers and works with Licensed Producers (LPs), Health Canada, Licensed retailers and internal teams to resolve these concerns, various ad-hoc requests.

About Your Day

  • Manage the Quality programs for customer complaints, product recalls, and product returns
  • Oversee the management of Quality policies, SOP, and document retention as per the regulations
  • Identify non-conformances/complaints/SCARs, and investigate the concerns in partnership with LPs and internal teams, review documentation, write reports on each concern, and follow up won action items until completion
  • Prepare reports for management stakeholders on complaints/recalls/non-conformances, and identify trends to be reviewed, investigated, or actioned
  • Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with suppliers and external customers
  • Collect and provide data to Insights team for Quality Metrics
  • Identify trends in the customer questions complaints received and work closely with LPs and Suppliers to achieve a timely resolution
  • Provide QA Management with monthly audit summary reports and report high risk vendors and product category findings
  • Identify and communicate non-conformance information to LPs/Vendors and Quality team, provide guidance on regulations, provide documentation/reports, and follow up on action items until completion
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability within the department and throughout the OCS
  • Ensure that the team has the competence and skills to execute business-critical projects by partnering with L&D to create learning plans
  • Build and direct a high performing team that consistently meets or exceeds expectations by assuring process compliance, ensuring appropriate training and feedback, and working with leadership to ensure team engagement

About You

  • Post-Secondary education in a science field with a course work focus on Quality Assurance and/or Regulatory Affairs
  • Experience in quality vendor management and quality management systems (QMS)
  • Excellent customer services skills and expectations
  • Proven ability to implement and direct Quality programs/processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships with stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
  • A strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices

Remote Work

  • You will be required to be in the office 1 day each week, with the ability to work from home for the remaining workdays (subject to specific business needs requiring office attendance).
  • When working from home, a reliable internet connection is required. Remote work is supported with cloud-based applications and collaboration tools (i.e., MS Teams)
