Job summary: Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for crunching numbers and getting things done? We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious professional to join our Corporate Finance team in the role of Senior Accountant. In this role, you will report to the Corporate Controller and work collaboratively with the team to support our business strategies as it relates to financial accounting, controls, and reporting. As the Senior Accountant, you have the perfect formula for analytics and people management that allows you to inspire change, cultivate excellence and drive innovation. You thrive in a challenging environment and are excited by the opportunity to jump-start your career at Aurora, and here’s how you’ll do it: As a Senior Accountant, you will: Prepare financial reporting packages under IFRS, including determining consolidation adjustments required Perform variance analysis related to international subsidiary operations Maintain intercompany transaction schedules, and other key schedules such as inventory and property, plant, and equipment as it relates to the international subsidiary functions Prepare and review journal entries as necessary Support the preparation of financial statements and MD&A Assist with quarterly reviews and year-end audits Provide cross functional assistance to other teams to support new and ongoing business initiatives Proactively identify opportunities for improvement on current processes and help implement recommendations Perform additional duties, responsibilities and special projects as required by the Company You would be the best fit for this role if you are: A certified professional accountant (CPA, CA, CGA or CMA) with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience A strategic business partner with a process-oriented mindset who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and inspire innovation A trusted professional with strong business acumen and analytical skills that thrives when setting goals, making checklists, and meeting multiple deadlines A natural communicator with exceptional people skills who can build relationships and share ideas clearly and concisely Bonus points if you have: Public company accounting experience within multi-currency settings and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (an equivalent combination of work experience and education may be considered when creating our talent pool) Excited about this opportunity?
