The Opportunity

As a member of the Global Operations Project Management Office, the successful candidate will work cross functionally across the CGC organization and manage specific projects from initiation to final delivery: including scoping, resourcing, schedules, linkages and dependencies and overall oversight of feasibility, planning and execution. We are looking for a dynamic candidate that can set the framework for projects and objectives set out by headquarters and can ensure every project is successfully delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to the PMO Program Director, we are looking for someone to be an integral part of our Operations team and will be tasked with implementing opportunities for continuous improvement for our processes and remain in compliance with GMP standards.

Responsibilities 

  • Strategically manage project development, implementation and reporting practices in accordance with the company’s vision while protecting Canopy’s intellectual property and processes
  • Identify support systems needed for implementing change and corrective actions related to projects and goal set out by stakeholders
  • Coordinate various work groups to deliver identified goals across multiple project, program and portfolio objectives, tracking deliverables and timelines, such that progress is visible to all
  • Create detailed work plans to identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects, in addition to evaluation measures and objectives; and include change management plans, as needed
  • Plan and facilitate meetings to report and discuss project status and enable interactive discussions on risks and issues and possible solutions
  • Actively escalate serious issues with projects in progress, including delays or conflicting use/availability of resources, to enable decision-making by leadership team members
  • Coordinate appropriate and effective content management to ensure documentation and project artifacts are secure and accessible
  • Support colleagues on the use of tools employed by the PMO to enable their successful use of those same tools and encourage the principles of transparency and accountability across work streams
  • Provide project leadership and support to team members, functional managers, and work closely with stakeholders to plan and schedule activities
  • Facilitate interdepartmental project communication, both verbally and through electronic means
  • Ensure individual project conformance with overall company objectives including budget management
  • Work with project team members to ensure that all initiatives have clear success criteria and an execution plan including resources
  • Prepare project scope/charter, work plan, estimate timelines and costing with the help of respective managers
  • Coordinate project related activities across all relevant departments
  • Provide regular updates to the centralized PMO team and create dashboard and reports at regular intervals
  • Prepare presentations and supporting material to help communicate project objectives, status, issues, etc., as required
  • Must be able to travel to various locations as required
  • Other duties as assigned 

Experience

  • 7+years project management experience, leading large transformation projects/programs
  • 5+ years experience working with a pharmaceutical manufacturing (or related) environment
  • Proven experience managing and balancing multiple complex projects, multi-disciplinary projects, and leading diverse, dynamic teams to deliver balanced, integrated solutions
  • PMP certification, or working toward PMP certification is preferred
  • Strong skills using project management software - Smartsheets or PPM software is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with project management frameworks, including cost, schedule, risk, issue and status tracking and monitoring
  • Experience working in CPG, beverage alcohol, or a related field an asset
  • Proven budget management experience
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate key aspects of the project to non-technical audiences
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in project management or extensive practical experience
  • Solid understanding of project management tools and reporting processes to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed about key project metrics
  • Experience supporting and facilitating a variety of engagement sessions and meetings with functional teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders
  • Experience with business process documentation techniques and tools an asset
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and help shape new ways of working across multiple functional areas
  • Capacity to understand the complexity of processes and their reach across the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Other Details 

This is a full-time remote role based out of Canada or USA. Duty travel to be expected which includes travel to our Headquarters in Smiths Falls, ON and our remote locations.

Pay range: $74, 000 - $90,000 USD per year, with bonus potential; commensurate with experience, specific to Colorado.
