**Job Profile:

The Product Manager is responsible for the commercial success of the NatureTrak product – from its concept, through development, market launch and ensuing life cycle.

The Product Manager is responsible for defining the product vision, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with Development/Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Customer Support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job is primarily a business function, maximizing business value from the NatureTrak product. This also includes ensuring that the NatureTrak product meets the users’ needs and supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

**Essential Functions:

  • Defines the vision for the product (the problem that the product is solving) and the corresponding product strategy and roadmap - acting as the intersection of business, design (user experience) and technology
  • Delivers Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Translates product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and customer requirements and impact
  • Throughout all stages of the product development process, represents the needs of the end users, evaluates market trends, requirements and competition, and uses this information to determine which features to build
  • Works closely with multiple teams: Development, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, Services and Support
  • Ensures an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all groups and team members
  • Maintains and manages the acceptance criteria checklist and decides when criteria have been met
  • Drives product launches, working with Marketing, Sales and other team members
  • Trains and readies the sales team(s) – providing the necessary and appropriate technical knowledge and expertise, positioning/messaging, collateral, pricing and other resources to support successful sales activities and campaigns
  • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage product(s) to validate the product meets market and product requirements
  • Briefs and trains the sales force during sales meetings and kick-offs
  • Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Becomes and remains an “expert” on market competition
  • Designs market research projects to assess customer attitudes toward the current product suite and new product introductions
  • Assists with development of the annual marketing plan
  • Acts as first point of reference for all product related inquiries and works collaboratively with Development to address
  • Represents NatureTrak by visiting customers to solicit feedback on the company’s products and services
  • Supports Business Development by working with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities

**Scope and Accountability:

Conducts all work with accuracy, on schedule, with completeness. Maintains professionalism and the highest level of service. Practice regular communication and cooperation with other departments within NatureTrak. Professionally handle and protect sensitive intellectual property and company data. Contribute in a strong team environment. Make recommendations, and take action; perform work under moderate level of supervision.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of increased responsibility in product management position(s) for enterprise software products, solutions and services with demonstrable success in delivering products to market – preferably in a new, category-defining space
  • Proven track record managing all aspects of successful products through their lifecycles
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively building consensus for product proposals/presenting to senior management
  • Effective at allocating development time and resources to ensure timely and profitable delivery of product(s)
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrixed process/organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – versed in the domain language of the technology and sales and marketing of business enabling software
  • MS/BS degree in business, computer science or engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated management qualities:
    • Must manage with a systematic approach, creating visibility for "internal customers”
    • Must be effective at building consensus within the organization with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
    • Ensures effective and efficient communication between all departments, especially marketing and development and works collaboratively with other teams to ensure successful product delivery to meet NatureTrak’s revenue and client satisfaction objectives
    • Must be able to take responsibility, be accountable for results and report regularly on progress toward objectives
  • Ability to manage critical projects to deadlines as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible/extended hours and up to 40% travel (as needed to support the business)
  • Proficiency with Project Management software, Requirements Management software and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
