The company is currently expanding to new states (Arizona and Michigan) and we're building a 130,000 sq ft state of the art facility at our corporate headquarters in Desert Hot Springs, CA. to meet the demands of the California market and setting up new territories & facilities nationwide.

Job Description

The Procurement Manager controls and improves demand flow processes. This includes ensuring parts/materials are available on time for production demand. This is done through seamless communication between all supply chain players and business demand strategies that are flexible and responsive to the company needs. Creates optimal inventory-model flow that expands and contracts without negatively impacting parts/materials fulfillment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Directs the development of raw materials procurement and supply. Rationalize the supply base and ensure alignment with global sourcing & supply needs.

  • Forecast materials demand, seek out new vendors and actively seek out improved costing and production capacity.

  • Place orders, track delivery, and manage vendor relationships.

  • Measure and report on key performance metrics for roll-up into plant and department balanced scorecard.

  • Motivates and inspires the supply chain organization to focus on continuous improvement and world-class performance. proactively implements new processes and develop a department that embraces change and strives to exceed goals.

  • Represents Procurement as a member of the plant steering team to support lean manufacturing initiative and provide insight and direction for the company.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related field

  • Related work experience in the retail, wholesale, or manufacturing industries (supply chain, buying, purchasing, contract negotiating, etc.)

  • Strong analytical ability and business acumen

  • Contract negotiation skills

  • Problem-solving & analysis

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities/tasks in a fast-paced work environment

  • Business systems (ERP) applications

  • Lean manufacturing is a plus

  • Material/supply chain excellence

  • Bilingual is a plus.
