The Opportunity 

Reporting to the Campaign Implementation Manager, the Marketing Automation Specialist will help drive our eCommerce and digital strategies by supporting both our owned email channel + digital testing and personalization program. This role is on the MarTech & Analytics team - part of Canopy’s eCom and Digital Centre of Excellence. The eCom and Digital COE supports Medical, CBD and Recreational markets.  You combine awesome business acumen with extremely strong technical skills. Though email campaigns are the core of this role, the ideal candidate will also be ready to use their exceptional front end development HTML skills to support testing and personalization on our eCommerce properties. You feel passionate about providing a best-in-class CX to our internal partners and to our customers & patients. 


  • Manage all aspects of email campaign deployment: HTML build, tagging, workflows, segmentation, and deployment (using Adobe Campaign Classic and 
  • Run point on testing/QA for your email campaigns (using Litmus) 
  • Build automated workflows to support defined customer journeys across the customer lifecycle 
  • Analyze the results for all campaigns and journeys - and recommend optimizations based on the data 
  • Conduct A/B testing to support email optimizations. Also support A/B and multivariate testing on our eCommerce properties (using Adobe Target) 
  • Troubleshoot technical issues 
  • Other duties as assigned to support our MarTech Roadmap   


  • 2+ years enterprise email experience in a digital marketing environment - managing cross-brand communication.  
  • Strong preference will be given to those with Adobe Campaign Experience – but candidates with experience in other enterprise automation platforms will also be considered (Marketo, Salesforce, Eloqua....) 
  • 2+ years Advanced HTML, CSS experience, with emphasis on email HTML 
  • SQL experience is an asset 
  • Workflow configuration and optimization experience – including branching and testing 
  • Knowledge of Email testing and QA tools and processes (Litmus or similar) 
  • Proven understanding of digital and eCom KPIs across all channels 
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing (huge bonus for previous use of Adobe Target) 
  • Strong analytical skills - and a true appreciation for the importance of robust tagging to drive data decision making 
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in email marketing and measurement 
  • Independent contributor who is self-driven and an effective collaborator 
  • Thorough understanding of data privacy and CASL

This is a full-time role based out of Kanata, ON or Toronto, ON (possibility of remote work for ideal candidate).
