Job Summary**

Lead Budtenders are responsible for customer experience which includes helping customers, processing the transaction, cash handling, and stellar customer service. You must possess the ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences. As a critical part of the business operation, the Lead Budtender will have the most interaction with the store’s patrons. Must be outgoing, passionate, and very knowledgeable on the products and cannabis. Lead Budtenders also assist the Management Team with the activities and operations of the store, while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continuous cannabis education including, but not limited to, knowledge of strains, terpenes, consumption methods, cannabis culture, medical implications, efficacy, effects/high, aroma/tastes/aesthetic, state and municipal regulations for medical and recreational cannabis
  • Stay apprised of any events, promotions and special and promote them with customers
  • Provides quality customer service and always demonstrates professionalism
  • Greets customers warmly when they enter
  • Promotes a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with state and local laws and regulations established company policies and procedures.
  • Accurately record any pertinent notes that will help provide excellent customer service when the

customer/patient returns

  • Attempt to obtain additional data for marketing purposes following the SOP (i.e. cellular phone number and email

address)

  • Verifying proper ID for customers/patients
  • Accurately use and maintain the Point of Sale (POS) system including correct cash handling and discount application
  • Full responsibility for an accurate cash drawer and accurate cash transactions
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure a presentable presence on the sales floor, including but not limited to clean and neat workstations and

well-maintained displays

  • Completes all assigned tasks during overlap hours
  • Make sales recommendations, cross-sell products and introduce new ones
  • Bag, box, or wrap purchase after appropriate items are labeled in accordance with state regulations
  • May act as MOD to open/close store, completing Opening/Closing duties and initialing the checklist appropriately
  • Refers to “Time to lean, time to clean” cleaning list when there is down time on the sales floor
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Store Lead

Qualifications

  • Must meet minimum age requirements as determined by local, state, and federal requirements
  • Must complete background check as required by local, state, and federal requirements
  • Must not have been convicted of any felony offense
  • Ability to work within a closely supervised environment
  • Works in a timely manner and strives to increase productivity
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Cannabis
  • Solid math skills, language, and reasoning skills.
  • Basic weights and measurement skills, ability to operate a digital scale
  • Experience in marijuana growing, cultivating, and trimming preferred
  • May be required to work nights and weekends
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication capabilities
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Education

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • Able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekends, and some holidays
  • Able to escort and assist patients with disabilities in navigating the dispensary, consultation couches, registers,

entrances and exits

Physical requirements

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • Ability to have extended cannabis exposure, with no adverse physical reaction
  • Ability to use repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and write English clearly to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and visitors
  • Fine visual acuity with the ability to adjust focus to inspect closely, ability to see color
  • Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities or structures
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to meet job and operate equipment requirements.
  • Requires normal range of hearing with the ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound
  • Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties associated with functioning as dispensary manager
  • Pushing/pulling/carrying, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to move about a typical office or retail environment
  • Regular and on-time attendance
