Job Summary

The HR Manager develops and maintains strong relationships with managers and employees across company. This role supports and collaborates with the organization's leaders and acts as a business partner to all designated Ayr Wellness business units. The HR Manager will provide support to internal customers in areas of recruiting, benefits and compensation, employee relations, workplace investigations, employee engagement, performance management, training, development, and succession.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day HR support and serves as the HR subject matter expert to all employees across all retail locations in the state of Florida.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner and advisor to retail leadership team
  • Provide support to internal customers in areas of benefits, employee relations, workplace investigations, labor relations, employee engagement, compensation, performance management, training and development, and onboarding.
  • Works closely with Talent Acquisition team on hiring needs and resource allocation. Open job requisitions, conduct interviews, create, and extend offers, and manage background and badging process.
  • Works with employees and leaders to drive the overall goals of the company.
  • Develops and reviews existing policies and procedures and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, corporate policies, and business objectives; effectively communicates policies and change initiatives
  • Works with the business leaders and with recruiting to effectively source, assess and hire candidates
  • Uses sound judgment to provide effective performance management guidance in the areas of coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions.
  • Partner with Ayr Training team to coordinate, and conduct training for various topics including performance management, harassment, and talent management.
  • Organizes and conducts new employee orientation ensuring all new hires receive a flawless onboarding experience
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends and best practices


  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or Organizational Development or equivalent professional experience
  • PHR or SPHR is strongly preferred


  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or Organizational Development.


  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience with 2 years of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to plan and execute programs and projects, and manage day-to-day HR responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact within all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and be discrete with employee issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to anticipate and prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality while handling multiple tasks
  • Ability to analyze problems, exercise judgment and make sound objective decisions
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in human resources operations, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, business acumen, and working knowledge of human resources
