The HR Manager serves as the first point of contact for employees in Pennsylvania facility and supports management with addressing employee relations, payroll, and benefits questions and concerns. The HR Manager is responsible for providing a positive first week experience for new hires during onboarding as well as ongoing support. This position is based in Shamokin Dam, PA, but some travel will be required to Massachusetts and Florida.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Provides support to new hires by managing the onboarding process and ensuring a positive first week experience; scales the onboarding process to support growth
- Provides support to employees by answering questions and concerns in a professional, prompt manner, including aiding with benefits enrollment and software system access; ensures communication of HR initiatives throughout MA locations
- Maintains a pulse on the engagement of the organization through feedback, including meetings and surveys; develops action plans based on feedback
- Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. Assesses the urgency and importance of situations and takes the appropriate action, including escalating issues as needed
- Manages requests for leave of absence under FMLA, PFML, or other state or federal leave programs, maintaining prompt response and ensuring compliant documentation
- Performs job analysis for the purposes of creating and updating job descriptions and competency-based profiles for recruitment and selection processes
- Works with HR leadership to analyze, develops, and maximize performance management programs to align with strategic goals, including goal setting, identifying opportunities for upskilling, and ensuring uniform application of rating system
- Assists with development of reward and recognition programs, including KPI-based incentive programs
- Assists HR leadership with developing, evaluating, and communicating policy changes
- Works with HR leadership to update state-specific and company-wide HR standard operating procedures, operational plans, and annual reports

Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a human resources functional area
- 3 – 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR management role required
- HRCI-PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and best practices
- Maintains working knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and changes in employment law
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain professional business correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time effectively; ability to prioritize tasks and readjust as needed
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for at least 8 hours
- Close visual acuity needed for viewing screens and fine print
- Manual dexterity needed for frequent correspondence and data entry

Working Environment
- General office environment with fluorescent lighting, no windows
- Occasional moderate background noise level due to HVAC and machinery
- Frequent exposure to cannabis odor; occasional exposure to product dust
- Required to wear uniform and/or PPE when accessing production areas
