Full Job Description
The HR Generalist works across the HR function to deliver service that reflects the business objectives and values of the organization. The HR Generalist serves as a consultant for management on HR-related issues and proactively communicates needs to HR and business management. The HR Generalist manages the administration of human capital resources policies, procedures, and programs. They will partner with managers to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of the organization and to deliver best talent in the organization.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
Works closely with HR Business Partners, management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and employees. Ensures consistency across all markets.
Reviews performance action forms to ensure consistent language and actions.
Leads and/or participates in HR related projects as needed to support HR/business related initiatives. Assists with project implementations.
Partners with HR Shared Services to manage LOAs and WC claims.
Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR department to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Partners with recruiting team and Business Partners to forecast and develop staffing plans to support growth and compliance needs.
Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and Company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
Maintains state specific New Hire and Time of Hire Notices for distribution. Ensures consistency across all markets.
Ensure regulatory compliance pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with the legal department when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding the company and its employees
Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or Organizational Development or equivalent.
Three to four years of progressive administrative experience in Human Resources positions. Specialized training in, employment laws, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, a plus.
Understanding of the marijuana industry desirable.
General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Strong conflict management skills.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop strong relationships and experience working with all level of executives.
Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, and presentations to leadership as required.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships in order to gain support and achieve results both internally and externally.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with confident leadership.
Travel %: 0 to 15%
Additional Abilities Required:
This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to lift or move up to 5 pounds, bend, reach, and perform manual tasks may also be required.
