The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, International Government Relations, the Government Relations Advocacy Coordinator will be a part of a superior government relations function building within Canopy Growth, including its wholly owned subsidiaries. This position will perform a variety of business tasks that require independent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Ideal candidates will be proactive, hands‐on, and independent problem‐solvers who can work as a team with others. Flexibility and discretion are key. Highly effective communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills are critical to the position.

Responsibilities
- Assist in all key Global Government Affairs initiatives
- Key support for department within the scope of both existing market and new markets 
- Working with department to identify key legislative and advocacy issues 
- Help develop strategies for key legislative and advocacy efforts 
- Strategic coordination of all internal Global Government Affairs communications initiatives
- Managing all intranet content and development by working with communications team members 
- Assisting in development of Global Government Affairs annual budget
- Creating department procedures for all invoicing and contractual obligations 
- Managing all department invoicing by working with accounts payable and accounts receivable team members 
- Leading all contractual efforts by working with legal team members and including: contract review, processing and payment 
- Managing all Global Government Affairs strategic advocacy efforts
- Managing key efforts within Canopy Growth Corp. Employees Political Forum (PAC) 
- Assisting in all PAC compliance including all reporting requirements 
-  Managing the development of Canopy Growth Corp. Employees Political Forum by working with outside vendor 
- Assist with all political fundraising events including scheduling 
- Liaison for Human Resources team members and Canopy Growth Corp. Employees Political Forum by coordinating all enrollment efforts 
- Managing all coalition activities 
- o Serve as liaison for US Cannabis Council and other coalition organizations • Help coordinate efforts with all coalitions to meet strategic objectives 
- Manage all office duties including cleaning, maintaining, and stocking office kitchens and coffee stations, assisting with meetings and lunches at VPs request, ordering office supplies, and assisting with office moves and changes
- Other duties as assigned 

Experience
- 3 – 4 years’ experience in an Executive Assistant/Coordinator role
- Mastery of Microsoft Office suite of software products (excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong written, grammatical, and oral communication skills
- Demonstrable history of working with integrity, discretion and a high level of competency
- Strong organizational skills. Must be able to set priorities while working with different team members
- Ability to multi-task and work with several moving pieces at a time
- Comfortable operating in a high-pressure environment with multiple demands on time and resources; ability to readily embrace change
- Ability to solve practical problems; highly motivated to deliver results
- Sharp, patient team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently
- Willingness to seek out new learning opportunities and take on new tasks/responsibilities as assigned

This is a temporary remote 13-month contract role.
