The Opportunity
Reporting to the Security Technical Support Manager this position will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our critical security infrastructure. The corporate security systems support position will have a close working relationship with our various I.T. and operational departments throughout the globe while ensuring corporate security standards are adhered and followed.
 
Responsibilities
- Performs software application maintenance on assigned systems running VMS applications.
- Responds, documents, reports, and resolves system outages or issues encountered with users
- via internal ticketing desk.
- Performs regular day-to-day Systems Administration activities such as User Administrations,
- Disk Management, Package Install, Patch Management, Storage Management, Disaster
- recovery/failover.
- Identifies, analyzes, fixes, and determines the root cause, follows-up and coordinates changes
- to resolve complex problems involving hardware, software, networking and applications
- VMWare: Assists in maintenance of virtualized server environments as it relates to the VMS
- system(s).
- Working in conjunction with our IT Department, you will assist with the creation and
- configuration of NVR hosts and ensure that the appropriate system resources are allocated and
- managed for maximum uptime.
- Configures and validates the configuration of the Genetec Network Video Recorder Stream
- Vault Series. This includes updating operating systems patches, and other documented
- configurations.
- Ability to federate Genetec systems highly desired.
- Accurately documents problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
- Supports system engineering groups for ongoing analysis and integration efforts.
- Maintains the March and Genetec systems which includes: updating and uploading electronic
- maps of card access equipment and installations to the software systems, maintain naming
- conventions, troubleshooting software faults and error notifications, interfacing with the system
- provider to address software and programming issues and errors, and any other functions
- required to maintain operability of the systems.
- Commissions and tests new locations and legacy systems.
- Frequently communicates with the internal corporate security team to help establish
- requirements and schedules.
- Works well under pressure during system failures.

Experience
- Must have experience with March Networks, Genetec, DMP Remotelink & Entre.
- Experience with Genetec Network Video Recorder (NVR) devices and Genetec Federated Server Certification preferred.
- Experience with March Networks Command Client - Certification Preferred
- Master knowledge of enterprise CCTV systems and networks.
- Working knowledge of industry standards for intrusion and access control configuration.
- Must have the ability or experience modifying VMS scripts and configuration files.
- Must have the ability or experience troubleshooting software issues on VMS platforms.
- Must comprehend networking vlans, subnets, DNS, gateways, DNS settings, network cabling,
- switches and routers to assist in diagnosis
- Must have the ability to identify and isolate discrepancies between software, hardware,
- database, scripts or configurations.
- Requires good communication skills to enable the effective and accurate exchange of
- information across a global enterprise.

This is a full-time role based out Kincardine, ON & Remote
