The Opportunity
Reporting into the GM Europe, the Commercial Director is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and overall administration of Canopy Growth’s activities in the United Kingdom. They will oversee the P&L, staffing, sales and market activities, while ensuring all activities, continue to meet the strategic objectives of Canopy Growth.

The Commercial Director is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, department managers and all local stakeholders, while also maintaining direct relationships within Europe. You will customize and adapt our overall strategy into your market to ensure it is fully integrated into the European structure.
 
Responsibilities 
- Develop Go to Market strategy to optimize performance in Europe, including determining optimal product mix of brands, and channel distribution strategy. Clearly define key accounts and overlap across markets. Lead UK private medical business in drive to reimbursement
- Drive vision and successful expansion of any new portfolio brands
- Lead planning and execution of strategies in alignment with the GM Europe
- Lead, develop and manage the team of Spectrum UK to achieve organizational objectives and set KPI's
- Oversee the formation of business partnerships and negotiation of contracts
- Monitor performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made and that corrective action is taken if necessary
- Work with Analytics & Insights to gain deep understanding of market and customers
- Work with GM to make appropriate investments and strategically build brand awareness
- Conduct sales forecasts and weekly and/or monthly status reports
- Budget preparation and monitoring of P&L
- Monitor financial performance to ensure the operations are meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment, with support from the European team
- Build high quality commercial organization with 90%+ A players in critical roles and establish accountability driven culture
- Active participation and leadership in the European Management Team
- Any other duties as required to discharge the responsibilities of the role

Experience
- Senior experience in an executive management role; experience in a sales and regulated industry is preferred 
- Experienced professional, with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels within the organization as well as government and industry stakeholders 
- A proven track record of success in delivering results through effective leadership in an executive management role 
- Strong Communicator
- Ability to work autonomously, and be accountable for decision made on a national scale 
- Superior project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in an intense and fast-paced environment where multiple priorities change frequently  
- Extraordinary leadership skills that drive a culture of excellence, collaboration, personal accountability and strategic direction that ultimately delivers business success 
- Substantial experience and a proven track record of leading, creating and high performing teams

This is a full-time position based out of our Aylesbury Office, UK. Remote working will be considered.
