POSITION INFORMATION Job Title: Associate Consultant Department: Operations Job Location: Toronto (downtown) Reports To: Head of Operations, Senior Consultant Direct Reports: Analysts Job Level: Associate Date Reviewed: March 2, 2022 JOB PURPOSE Maintain overall responsibility and accountability for supporting client projects, including the quality and timeliness of project deliveries. This is a contract position (with potential for permanent, full-time) for a client-facing role. An ideal candidate is an intelligent, hard-working, organized, and ambitious person with strong skills in technical document writing, public speaking, and a desire to learn and grow with the company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Be the supporter of projects for the operations part of our consulting team; our consulting team is composed of talented and well-educated industry experts. Your role as an Associate Consultant includes providing technical support to the Senior Consultants to assist with the management of a portfolio of client projects which can include: Cannabis Act applications, controlled substance licence applications, gap analysis reports, slide presentations, technical writing, retail applications, and operational readiness for facility build-out. You write technical documents including SOPs, aspects of the Quality Assurance Reports and Organizational Security Reports, developing Floor plans for new facilities and support documents for regulatory research projects. You work to support the creation of internal systems, reports, and templates to encourage operational efficiencies. Ultimately, you contribute to meeting goals/KPIs for the team. You are motivated to develop a strong knowledge of the regulations and the ongoing changes in the cannabis industry in Canada and globally in order to support the team. You continue to learn about the industry and ensure the team remains informed and leaders in the space. KPIs You will be accountable for the following: Preparing high-quality technical documents Ensuring project deliverables are completed on time Client satisfaction, retention, and growth EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate Degree in Science from a recognized Canadian University (Ph.D. preferred, M.Sc. required) Experience working at a cannabis licensed producer in regulatory and quality capacities; OR completion of a Technical Program in QA and/or Regulatory Affairs; OR entry-level experience in Consulting, Pharmaceutical, Food, Alcohol or Cannabis industries. Technical Document Writing experience is required. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Background in a regulated industry is a strong asset, with demonstrated skills to quickly understand the intent, interpretation, and application of relevant legislation and regulations. Experience working in a GPP, GMP, GLP or quality lab is strongly preferred. Project Management experience an asset. Previous experience in a consulting firm an asset. Previous experience with Health Canada facility audits is an asset. Knowledge of highly regulated industries; While you may not be an expert on the regulations in our industry, you have sufficient knowledge and experience using the regulations in our industry to complete tasks, and have a strong desire to gain a better understanding to support your team and effectively produce results through your work. You are convinced that the work you produce gets to clients with the highest level of accuracy and detail. You value high-quality work output and are self-motivated to produce that level of work. You are familiar with Quality Assurance principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/Good Production Practices (GPP), and working within a regulatory framework; You have the ability to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) compliant within a regulated industry and are able to research and provide summary reports in the regulatory field. An excellent communicator in both written and oral, you have a professional and confident disposition and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set/meet deadlines. You understand what it means to work as part of a team as well as work independently without supervision; You can anticipate and meet company and client expectations/needs.
